In “Pss, Pss! Chop, Chop!” Shiv\u0101 Amiri explores the traces of prolonged displacement through transgenerational experiences. The work negotiates questions of nation-statehood, gender, and queerness. It is a biographical search for stories, images, and people \u2014 inseparably connected to loss. In order to remember, Amiri visits the grandmother\u2019s house in Kabul, researches the sites of refugee camps, and dances Attan with the spirits of the family. The result is a personal archive of sound, dance, poetry, and Sofra \u2014 a transcultural life and resistance. <\/p>\n
