This solo performance explores the notion of sweetness through the body. The work moves between the literal presence of sugar and its metaphorical implications, asking what it means to inhabit a “sweet” body and what happens when sweetness exceeds its limits.

The project emerges from a personal experience of living with chronically high blood sugar, expanding this condition into a broader reflection on sweetness as something that is desired, cultivated, and performed. Often associated with care, femininity, desirability, harmony, and self-control, sweetness appears not only as a quality but also as an expectation placed upon the body.

Through choreography, live music, sugary materials, and the live measurement of blood sugar levels, the performance creates a dense, sticky landscape where attraction and excess slowly transform into discomfort. As sugar accumulates on the body and throughout the space, sweetness shifts from pleasure to exposure, revealing the fragile balance between seduction, vulnerability, and exhaustion.

Sweetness is approached as a material that can be touched, consumed, measured, and embodied. The performance invites the audience into a sensory environment where the boundaries between desire and control, pleasure and risk, begin to blur.
