An Evening in Three Parts

The world premiere of “Sonst gute Nacht” will take place as part of the 2026 ceremony of the Akademie Musiktheater heute (AMH), marking the graduation of the 2024–2026 class.
In the three-part evening “Sonst gute Nacht,” consisting of the short operas “Der Drache auf dem Silbertablett” (music: Maximiliano Soto Mayorga), “Silberschwere Lider” (music: Adrian Laugsch), and “Tango Paradiso” (music: Abigél Varga) with texts by Sophie Jira, the 2024–2026 class explores a dystopian future scenario. Instead of seeking societal solutions in the face of contemporary crises, the wealthiest plan their own exit in the event of an apocalypse. On a seastead, seemingly far removed from the world’s catastrophes, they are nevertheless repeatedly confronted with primal human problems.
In the run-up to the ceremony, the Akademie Musiktheater heute is hosting the Worldcafé “25 Years of Akademie Musiktheater heute – and tomorrow?”
