Geldlauf am Main
Audiowalk by VOLL:MILCH along the infrastructure of money
The GELDLAUF leads right through the financial center of Frankfurt am Main, along the Anlagenring and through the city’s bank towers to the Main river. This well-known skyline of “Mainhattan” is not only a universally visible symbol of capitalism but also the heart of a much less visible money infrastructure. Banks, investment firms, insurance companies, the Bundesbank, and the European Central Bank are interdependent actors in a web of money that supplies liquidity to both the state and global financial markets. The audio walk invites you to follow the flow of money on foot for almost two hours, while also catching a critical glimpse of the structure that holds our (monetary) social order together – or breaks it apart.
On October 10 at 4:00 PM and October 11 at 2:00 PM, VOLL:MILCH invites you to start the audio walk together. After the walk along the Main river, there will be an opportunity to talk with the participants. The audio walk will then be freely available until October 18.
