This work is about revealing everything and finding out if something is actually there. This room is empty. You are in my head. While I do not have a gender, my anxiety apparently has. I am terrified, and yet: You are here. You are here. I feel criminal because I feel. Surrender.

A world in which everything seems unstable, in which even one’s native language is already too vulnerable: “Trembling Heart, Panicked Desire (this is not a participatory performance)” places a body on stage whose only confidant is fear. Physical excess becomes a guarantee of safety, while voice and heartbeat, light and sound become mediators of the supposedly real. This autofictional solo performance navigates the tension between control, loss of control, trust, surrender, and blurred boundaries. It is an attempt to negotiate the social power dynamics between the stage, the audience, and social anxiety: Can someone who steps onto the stage and loses their sense of self in fear even exist? And what happens if, despite the fear, one does not disappear but simply stays?
